BOSSIER CITY – Elaine Sermons McLemore was born January 19, 1929 in Dry Prong, LA and entered into heaven’s gates on September 16, 2013 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Harold McLemore for 62 years and the loving mother of Sarah Kent of Bossier City, LA and Susan Fethkey of Katy, TX. She was the devoted grandmother of Amber Horton of Katy, TX and Hannah Kent of Bossier City, LA, as well as many additional grandchildren that were part of her life. Adoring great grandmother to Hunter and Harley Boan of Katy, TX, she was also the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Washington Oliver and Anice Futtrell Sermons; brother, James L. Sermons, Sr.; sisters, Irma Lloyd and Gerry Lynn Johnson and grandson, Adam Horton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Elaine’s life at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Rev. David Lane, former pastor of South Bossier Baptist Church, where Elaine was a member and Sunday School teacher. Visitation with the family will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday.

The family would like to thank the staff members and physicians at Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital. Also a special thanks to Dr. Albert Krause and Dr. Paul Rushing for their support and care.
