EMERGENCY BRIDGE CLOSURE: LA 527 bridge over Flat River, Bossier Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, effective immediately, the LA 527 bridge over Flat River in south Bossier Parish is closed for repair.

This bridge closure is anticipated to be in place through the evening of Sunday, September 13, 2026.

This bridge is located immediately east of US 71 (Barksdale Blvd) in the Taylortown community (see included map).

DOTD crews are currently performing emergency piling repair, which will ensure the structure can remain in service to the traveling public.

DOTD will issue a notification when repairs are complete and the bridge has been reopened.

Restrictions/Permits: Total bridge closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.

Alternate Route: Detour signage will be in place.

This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
