Eugene was born December 8, 1925 in Ringgold, LA. He passed away on February 1, 2014. He proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during WWII and the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He was a courageous man, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the state-winning 1942 Bossier High football team. His passion for finding a good bargain at a garage sale was only equaled by his love of socializing with his morning walk group at Pierre Bossier Mall.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Eugene is survived by his son, Jerry Holt, daughters, Karen Holt and Kristie Holt; and grandchildren, Heather Brown, Julie Martin, Jeffery Holt, and Sophie Dow. The family would like to thank lifelong friends Mr. James Baker and Al Hendricks and his cousin Kenny Holt. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the NWLA Veterans Home.
