Event being held to commemorate March 2016 floods

A commemorative event to recognize survivors, first responders, and the community organizations that assisted survivors during the March 2016 flood will be held on Thursday, March 23 at First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m.

The event will be held in the Hunter Building – Bain Hall, 500 Common St., Shreveport. A community networking event will immediately follow the conclusion of the program. Light refreshments will be provided by First United Methodist Church.

The Louisiana Spirit Program, a sponsor of the event, is a federally funded Crisis Counseling Program for individuals, families, and groups affected by disasters. Under the direction of the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Behavioral Health, Louisiana Spirit provides outreach crisis counseling and resource linkage to survivors, families, and organizations throughout the community.
