Find the right book club for you

There are all kinds of book clubs in our area, three directly associated with Bossier Parish Libraries: the Bossier Central Book Club; the East-80 Book Club; and Dear Reader an online book club on the library website.

The Bossier Central club meets on the third Thursday of each month from 6—7p.m.  Everyone is welcome whether you have read the selected book or not.  Refreshments are provided.  Contact Anne Madison, Associate Director of Public Services, for more information at (318) 746-1693.

On the fourth Saturday of each month the East-80 Ladies Book Club meet at 5:30p.m.  To find out more about this fun group call Lisa Barrett at (318) 949-2665.

East-80 Library also has summer book clubs for pre-teens and teens June –August.  Patsy Sykes conducts the pre-teen Sizzle Summer Reading Club for ages 8—12 years beginning Thursday, June 19 at 3:30p.m.  Callie Tucker leads the Teen Summer Book Club for ages 13—18 years.  This club began on Tuesday, June 10 at 3:30p.m.  Both clubs require pre-registration in order to have enough books on hand.

Dear Reader is an online book club available on the library website at www.bossierlibrary.org.  To sign up just enter your email address, choose the Book Clubs you like and the selections will be sent to your email address where you can read them online.  One of the great features of the online book club is Author Buzz where you can actually meet the authors and talk to them via email.

Kick back and relax with a good book this summer.  Put a visit to the library on your list of things to do each week.  We look forward to seeing you.

Make a note:

The Bossier Central Book Club has rescheduled their monthly meeting.  The new date is Thursday, June 26 from 6-7p.m.  They will discuss the book “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Prophet, Martyr, Spy” by Eric Metaxas.  Call (318) 746-1693 for more details.
