Bossier City employees prepare sandbags as a flash flood warning is issued for Bossier City.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning today has been extended until 6 p.m. for Bossier Parish and northwest Louisiana.

Two to three inches of rain already have fallen in the area, and more storms producing heavy rain are moving across the area. Flash flooding is expected.

The National Weather Service advises motorists that if you see flooding to turn around, don’t drown. Most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles.
