HAUGHTON – Graveside services with military honors for Flin L. Cook, 86, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 with Bro. Gevan Spinney officiating. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Flin was a member of First Baptist Haughton. He loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, going to antique auctions and gardening. His passion was coin collecting.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Chandler Walden Cook, parents Joseph and Minnie Cook of Texas, son, Gary Cook, step-son Jimmie Walden and several siblings.
He is survived by daughters Brenda Thomas and husband Daniel, Kay Hooper and husband Jim, Debbie Creech and husband Mike, Gwynn Kruger and husband Jerry, Kathy Cook Parks, Theresa Lambright and husband Jerry, Shawn Cook and wife Evona, son of Gary Cook and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was very proud of his service to his country. He served a couple of years in the Navy and retired from the U S Air Force. He served in World War II and the Vietnam war. He was the most patriotic person you would ever meet.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all his nurses and staff at Town and Country Nursing Home, Magnolia Hall. Gamble Hospice Care staff and nurses.
