Flying Heart Brewing & Pub has Partnered with National Pediatric Cancer Foundation to create the “Rising Hope Candy Shandy” benefiting NPCF.

The goal is to merge the culture of the craft brewing industry with NPCF’s mission to raise awareness of pediatric cancer, educate the general public, and recognize children fighting cancer.

The concept is fun and simple — Flying Heart Brewing & Pub brewed an Apple Pie Candy Shandy named “Rising Hope Candy Shandy” and will be donating the proceeds from the sale of this beer to NPCF.

According to Taylor Lewallen with the NPCF, “88 percent of every dollar spent by the NPCF goes towards our mission of funding research to eliminate childhood cancer.”

Sales of the “Rising Hope Candy Shandy” will begin on Saturday, Sept. 1 with a Star Wars® themed kickoff party at Flying Heart Brewing & Pub, 700 Barksdale Blvd., Bossier City. The first 150 people to purchase a “Rising Hope Candy Shandy” will get to keep their commemorative glass. After that, a collector koozie will be given with each “Rising Hope Candy Shandy” purchase while supplies last.

An order of events for the Kick Off Party follows:

  • Beer sales will begin at 11a.
  • Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars® character and have your picture taken with the members of The 501st Legion, a volunteer organization who contribute to their communities through costumed charity and volunteer work.
  • Star Wars® trivia will begin at 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per team (6 people per team max) to play. The proceeds will go NPCF.
  • Live Music by The Social Brigade will begin at 6 p.m.
