Football (updated): Bossier, Benton pick up sub-varsity victories; Parkway loses close one to Shreve


he Bossier Bearkats and the Benton Tigers won sub-varsity football games Monday.

Bossier defeated Logansport 21-20 in a junior varsity contest at Bossier. Benton downed Southwood 19-8 in a freshman game at Southwood. The Cowboys won the JV game 8-6.

In another JV game, Parkway dropped a 13-12 decision to Captain Shreve.

Jayke Stewart scored on a 6-yard run with 8 seconds left in the game and threw a two-point conversion pass to Deandre Summage to win it.

Kevin Daniels passed 69 yards to Summage for Bossier’s first touchdown. Rodrick Andrews went 6 yards for the second.

Brad Fream hit Bubba Osby with a 15-yard scoring pass in the Benton freshman team’s victory. Edwin Kenyan added the PAT. Johntavious Johnson scored the Tigers’ second touchdown on 12-yard run. Keldrick Moody capped the scoring with a 2-yard run.

Anthony Echols recovered a fumble and Ellis Cole intercepted a pass. Jonathan Thompson scored Benton’s lone TD in the JV game on a 5-yard run.

Kendall Brown scored on a 4-yard run and thew a 10-yard touchdown pass to Zach Harper in Parkway’s game against Shreve. Joey Cook had an interception.
