Friday evening shooting involves Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy

Update – From the Bossier Sheriff’s Office: Last night at 9 p.m., Bossier deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of James Lane in Haughton on a domestic/armed robbery call against a family member.

Benjamin Lee Sellers, a 33-year old white male, was shot after an altercation with deputies. 

Family members have been notified. This incident is still under investigation. 

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington has placed a deputy on paid administrative leave after this shooting. 

Original story post: Reports are coming in to the Bossier Press-Tribune newsroom late this Friday evening in relation to a Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy being involved in a shooting incident in the Haughton area.

Authorities are on the scene at this time. At this moment, details are very sketchy. There does appear to have been a fatality at the scene. However, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Deputy involved in the incident is reported to be OK.
