Southwood at Parkway

SOUTHWOOD NOTES: Cowboys are coming off a 35-14 loss to Haughton in 1-5A opener. Southwood has lost five straight since season-opening victory over Minden. Since scoring 32 against Minden, Cowboys are averaging just 11.5 points per game.

PARKWAY NOTES: Panthers are coming off a 48-10 victory over Captain Shreve in 1-5A opener. Parkway averaging 57.2 points per game. Panthers ranked No. 2 in Class 5A. Parkway first-team defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in last two games.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Southwood — WR Chrisna Black, QB Keyton Crowder. Parkway — DB Dante Williams, RB Demetrius McAtee, WR Brodrick Jefferson.

LOYOLA NOTES: Flyers are coming off a 31-28 District 1-4A loss to Minden. Loyola had a chance to tie the game at the end after trailing 24-0 early.

BENTON NOTES: Tigers are coming off a 39-18 1-4A loss to undefeated Fair Park. Kordy Stewart caught 20 passes in the game, and Jordan Shaffer completed 40. Turnovers have been a key factor in both district losses.

BOSSIER NOTES: Bearkats are coming off a 49-28 loss to North Webster in 1-3A opener. Bossier had one of its best offensive games of the season last week with Chris Hall and Chris Williams both rushing for more than 100 yards.

BTW NOTES: Lions are coming off a 37-22 loss to Mansfield in 1-3A opener. The 22 points was a season-high for BTW, which is averaging just 10.3 points per game

GRAMBLING NOTES: Kittens are coming off a 53-28 loss to Cedar Creek in 1-1A opener. Grambling’s lone win was over Tensas, 28-6, in Week 5.

LA. NEW TECH NOTES: Lions are coming off a 26-12 victory over Ringgold in 1-1A opener. New Tech looking for fourth straight victory.
