The Bossier Arts Council is very excited to announce that they will be moving their Gallery Fine Art Center down a few doors to Suite 1200 in Airline Plaza in Bossier City.
When asked why the location was moving their Executive Director, Leigh Anne Chambers responded “We needed more than just an exhibition space. We needed more room to better provide for the needs of our community, and it just so happens that the space at the end provided a more conducive layout.” BAC swapped locations with CC and Company an up scale boutique, that is host to the largest Johnny selection in our area, that also sales unique jewelry and gifts.
The new location will play host to a variety of functions including an exhibition space, Wi-Fi loft, office space, conference room, artist studio, and be available to rent for parties, receptions, classes, and business meetings. The Wi-Fi loft is an extension to BAC’s already existing Artist One Stop that provides business resource materials for Artist to conduct the less creative side of their job. In addition the loft will showcase art work from Bossier Parish Schools. “We wanted to utilize the space to showcase our students work in the same building as professional working artists” said Chambers. The conference room will be available to book at an hourly rate of $10 during regular business hours and $20 after and have TV display capabilities, coffee and juice bar, and printing. “We thought that this would give our creative community a professional place to meet with clients” said Robin Jones BAC’s Site and Education Coordinator. ;
Meredith Hamrick BAC Board Member and Event Planner also wanted to provide a space that was available to rent for a variety of events. “Not every occasions calls for a huge location but that doesn’t mean your intimate parties can’t be done with a little flair. The new location will provide an engaging background of original artwork by local artists in an open floor plan that provides both an upstairs and downstairs space. The stunning chandelier and wood floors provide a touch of class that is sure to provide a wow factor for your guests.” The space will be available to rent starting at just $100 an hour.
Programming will include new art shows on a quarterly schedule, monthly literary readings and discussions, a quarterly songwriters performance, and many more family friendly events. “We really see this as an opportunity to engage our community in a new a different way” said Chambers. Businesses can utilize the space for luncheons, workshops, or meetings starting at $25 an hour.
