The Airline Lady Vikings rolled to a 61-32 victory over the Minden Lady Tiders in girls high school basketball action Tuesday night at Airline.
Elsewhere, Benton routed Lakeside 62-15 at home, Plain Dealing upended Bossier 54-42 at Bossier and Providence Classical Academy edged Bethel Christian of Ruston 36-35 and Parkway fell to Booker T. Washington 45-41 at Parkway.
At Airline, the Lady Vikings dominated the first half and led 31-15. Minden played better in the third quarter and was within 11 going into the fourth.
Airline didn’t let Minden back in it it, going on a 20-2 run to close the game.
Airline’s Tyra Kidd had by far her best game of the season, scoring 27 points. Camilla Rodriguez added 11.
Tiaga Pugh topped Minden with 13.
It was a much-needed victory for Airline (2-6). The Lady Vikings went 0-4 in the St. Michael tournament last week, losing two of those games by seven and two points.
Minden (6-3), which won the Haughton tournament on Saturday, had a five-game winning streak snapped.
At Benton, Brandy Harris led nine Lady Tigers who scored with 17 points. Emily Ward added 10. Morgan Bradford, Abbie Wynn and Lazaria Lloyd scored eight apiece.
Benton, which went 1-3 in the St. Michael tournament last week, improved to 7-4.
At Bossier, Dranautika Thomas led Plain Dealing (5-3) with 15 points. Dra Briggs added 13 and Darmesha Noble 11. Bossier (6-3) won the Bossier Lady Kats Invitational last week.
At Parkway, the Lady Panthers led by four at the half but BTW tied it at 27 going into the fourth and pulled out the victory.
Chelsea Randle was 7 of 9 from the field and led the Lady Panthers with 14 points. Niaya Fant, Kendall Lewis and Kourtney Landry scored five each. Parkway was just 7 of 18 from the free-throw line.
Caitlyn Crews hit a shot at the buzzer to lift PCA to the victory over Bethel Christian. K K Cathey, a fifth-grader, led all scorers with 15 points.
