Girls basketball: Airline edges Bossier; Plain Dealing wins

The Airline Lady Vikings stayed undefeated Tuesday night, but the Bossier Lady Kats made them work for it.

Madison Rowland hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead the Lady Vikings (4-0) to a 52-51 victory at Bossier.

Kei McCoy added 15 points for Airline. She made 9-for-12 free throws, including 7-of-8 in the fourth quarter.

Gabbie Mason and Necka Wynn led Bossier with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Destiny Thomas added nine.

The game was close throughout. Airline led 21-19 at the half and 33-31 after three quarters. The Lady Vikings stretched the lead to 44-37 with about two minutes left. The Lady Kats got within two twice in the final minute, but Airline held them off.

Elsewhere, the Plain Dealing Lady Lions downed Captain Shreve 50-29 at Plain Dealing and Parkway fell at home 57-36 to Green Oaks. The Benton Lady Tigers lost on the road to West Monroe.

Parkway fell behind 18-5 to Green Oaks, but the Lady Panthers played very well during a 12-3 run in the first half, cutting the Lady Giants lead to 21-17. Green Oaks pulled away late in the second quarter.
