The Benton Lady Tigers and Bossier Lady Kats posted District 1-4A girls basketball victories Friday night.
The Lady Tigers ended the game on an 18-4 run to rally past the Minden Lady Tiders 57-49 in Minden. The Lady Kats routed Huntington 54-33 at Huntington.
Plain Dealing remained undefeated in District 1-1A with a 51-22 shellacking of D’Arbonne Woods in Plain Dealing.
At Minden, Brandy Harris scored 31 points and was a big factor in the Lady Tigers’ late run. Emily Ward scored 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Lele Carper scored 12 points and made several clutch free throws in the closing minutes of the game.
The Lady Tigers improved to 18-7 overall and 2-0 in district.
Necka Wynn hit six 3-pointers and scored 25 points in Bossier’s victory. Brittany Wallace had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Destiny Thomas almost matched her with eight points and nine rebounds.
Tia Walker also came close to a double-double with nine points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Quienna White grabbed nine rebounds.
Bossier improved to 15-4 overall and 2-0 in district.
At Plain Dealing, Dra Briggs scored 14 points and Hershey Stumon and Teauna Perry had 10 each to lead the Lady Lions. Plain Dealing (15-5, 6-0) completes the first half of 1-1A play at home Tuesday against Arcadia (19-1, 6-0).
Arcadia was No. 4 in the most recent LHSAA 1A power rankings. Plain Dealing was No. 11.
