The Benton Lady Tigers opened pool play in the Lady Tigers Invitational with a 63-47 victory over Red River Wednesday night at Benton.
Madi Sessions led the Lady Tigers (6-4) with 19 points. Megan Fream added 13.
In another pool play game Wednesday, Parkway fell to Northwood 44-35.
Tyra Kidd topped the Lady Panthers with 13 points.
In pool play games Thursday, Airline defeated Northwood 38-20, Parkway fell to North Caddo 67-38 and Southwood defeated Red River 63-36.
Benton faces defending Class 5A state champion Southwood in another pool play game today at 7:30 p.m. Airline plays North Caddo at 6.
The semifinals of the tournament are Saturday at 1:30 and 3 p.m. The third-place game is at 6 with the championship game set for 7:30.
Elsewhere, the Haughton Lady Bucs knocked off Simsboro 68-52 in the Doyline tournament Thursday.
Brittany Robinett and Mikayla Barber scored 19 points each to lead the Lady Bucs. Mattie McCoy added 16.
Haughton faces Woodlawn at 3:30 p.m. today

In Tuesday’s action, Airline topped Minden 49-34, Benton downed Lakeside 53-35, Parkway rallied past Leesville 68-63, and Louisiana New Tech at Plain Dealing fell to Summerfield 56-34.
At Benton, Megan Fream poured in 25 points to lead the Lady Tigers. Gabby Jackson chipped in with 18.
At Parkway, the Lady Panthers outscored Leesville 29-13 in the final quarter to notch their first victory of the season.
Tyra Kidd pumped in 25 points to top the Lady Panthers. Wisdom Watts added 16 and Kendall Lewis 10.
