Girls basketball: Bossier, Plain Dealing win in Lady Kats tournament


The Bossier Lady Kats and Plain Dealing Lady Lions advanced to the semifinals of the Bossier Federal Credit Union Lady Kats Invitational with victories Wednesday.

The Lady Kats dropped the Woodlawn Lady Knights 64-52, and the Lady Lions defeated the Green Oaks Lady Giants 49-38.

In other first-round games, Parkway fell to Booker T. Washington 46-33, and West Monroe downed Huntington 48-39.

In today’s semifinals, West Monroe plays Plain Dealing at 4 p.m. and Bossier takes on BTW at 5:30. In the consolation semifinals, Parkway meets Woodlawn at 7 and Huntington faces Green Oaks at 8:30

Necka Wynn and Tia Walker scored 14 points each to lead Bossier past Woodlawn. Esha Raphael scored eight points and a team-high 15 rebounds.

Navia Johnson and D. Bridges scored 12 each in Plain Dealing’s victory over Green Oaks. Draunautika Thomas added nine.

Chelsea Randle led Parkway with 13 points.
