Goodwill Industries Kicks Off Mission Month

Throughout the month of August, Goodwill Industries of North
Louisiana is celebrating Mission Month — which provides an important insight to the
importance of the public’s donations and shopping and the vital role it plays to fund more
than 18 workforce training and placement programs.

On August 9 and 10 th , Goodwill is encouraging the public to participate in the Community-
Wide Donation Drive. By contributing household items or clothing at any of our retail
stores, a 10% coupon to Goodwill will be given to any individual dropping off donations.

Additionally, Workforce staff will be onsite at several of our stores to distribute program
flyers and answer questions on Goodwill’s mission.

Additionally, throughout the month, Goodwill has also partnered with AmeriHealth Caritas
mobile healthy unit and will be offering customers and the public the opportunity to have a
health checks and learn more about the availability of any needed health care providers.

The bus will be onsite 10am to 2pm on the following days and locations:
August 13        Goodwill Outlet, 800 W. 70 th Street, Shreveport
August 15        Goodwill Store, 8100 Jump Run, Shreveport
August 20        Goodwill Store, 1291 Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, Shreveport
August 22        Goodwill Store, 4000 Airline Drive, Bossier City
August 29        Goodwill Store, 1085 Highway 80, Haughton

Goodwill provides free job training and placement services to any individuals seeking
employment. Last year, Goodwill Job Centers provided services to 2,525 individuals and
connected 397 employers to the employees they needed. The economic impact of these
job placements in our community was $9,961,536. To learn more about Goodwill’s
