UPDATE: Gov. Edwards unable to tour storm damage in Bossier

UPDATE: Because of unfavorable weather conditions, the Governor’s travel was diverted, and he is unable to visit North Louisiana today. The team from GOHSEP will continue to assist and coordinate with local leaders with damage assessments and plan for a visit from the Governor at a later date.

BATON ROUGE – Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards will travel to North Louisiana to tour the damage caused by severe weather that struck overnight. 

There are at least three confirmed deaths, damaged homes, several closed roadways and downed trees and power lines.

Gov. Edwards will survey Benton Middle School and then hold a press conference at the Bossier Parish Mobile Command Center in Haughton.
