Today, Governor Jeff Landry marked the close of the special legislative session on Tax Reform. When Governor Landry ran for office, he promised the people of Louisiana that he would work to achieve a government as good as the people of Louisiana. As Governor, he has focused on fixing crime, improving our education system, and rebuilding our economy. This special session, he achieved his goals of putting more money in people’s pockets, making Louisiana more competitive, ensuring citizens pay less money to government, fixing the fiscal cliff—providing our teachers a much-deserved pay raise, and simplifying our tax code—eliminating special interest loopholes.
