Groups donate to BSO’s Young Marines


In addition to supporting the Young Marines, the Disabled Veterans of Louisiana gives to numerous community organizations and groups. In the last year, the local veterans group gave $90,000 to The McDade House, Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, Department of Louisiana Disabled American Veterans, Providence House, ROTC programs, Northwest and Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Homes, Barksdale Air Force Base and more. Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington accepts a check from Sgt. Johnnie Estess and Dominick Digilormo (center) as part of a $10,000 donation to the Bossier Sherriff’s Young Marines program Monday afternoon. Estess, president of the Sons of Italy Heritage Club, and club member Digilormo coordinated the “In God We Trust” Fish Fry Fundraiser to support the Bossier Sheriff’s Young Marines on Sept. 11 at City Tele-Coin Company in Bossier City.
