ELM GROVE – Services for Hanson Love (Pete) Cater, III will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Geno Munds. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pete was born in Montgomery, Alabama on December 12, 1931. As a young man he joined the Air Force and served for 22 years. After he retired he started his second career for the city of Shreveport for over 20 years. Pete enjoyed teaching skating, following NASCAR and working on communication radios. He had a talent to fix most things, mechanical and electrical. His joy was his family, church, choir, men’s bible study, cars, animals and working in the yard. He liked to eat pistachios, haystack candy and at Southfield Grill.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents Hanson L. Cater, Jr. and Natalie Cater, and his wife Anna Cater. He is survived by his sister Mary Southerland, children Debra Cardwell, Lenny Cater and wife Linda, Michael Cater, Patty Munds and husband Geno, grandchildren Jennifer, Joshua, Alisha, Nick, Hanna, and two great grandchildren.
