Live racing schedule canceled through March, 16th
Harrah’s Louisiana Downs Casino and Racetrack Management are working to reopen by approximately 2:00pm (CST) on Monday, March 14, 2016. The decision to reopen was made by Harrah’s Louisiana Downs Senior Management on Sunday afternoon after the mandatory evacuation was downgraded in areas surrounding Red Chute Bayou in Bossier City.
“We plan on opening operations Monday afternoon at 2pm.We welcome back our Harrah’s Louisiana Downs guests to come out and play,” said, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mike Rich.
On Monday morning the Harrah’s operations team will begin working with the Louisiana State Police Gaming Division to move the casino back into normal operation. Simulcast Racing is also expected to resume on Monday afternoon. The Market Place Café located inside of Harrah’s Louisiana Downs will not reopen until Wednesday, March 16th and Live Quarter Horse racing is cancelled through Wednesday. More information on the remainder of the live racing schedule will be provided as soon as it is available.
Harrah’s Louisiana Downs closed last Friday after a mandatory evacuation was ordered in the community surrounding the property due to potential flooding. Harrah’s Senior Management Team worked closely with officials to monitor the situation and make sure Harrah’s employees, guests and animals remained safe.
