Haughton, Bossier tournaments start today

The Haughton Jack Clayton Invitational and Bossier Lady Kats Invitational basketball tournaments tip off this week.

The Haughton tournament includes boys and girls fields. Games will be played at Haughton and BPCC. The Bossier tournament is girls only.

The seven-team Haughton boys tournament starts today with three games at Haughton.
Benton faces Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. followed by Haughton vs. North DeSoto at 7 and Parkway vs. Minden at 8:30.

Defending champion Byrd received a first-round bye and will play the Parkway-Minden winner in Thursday’s semifinals at 5:30 p.m. at BPCC.

The other semifinal is Friday at 7 at BPCC. The championship game is 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Haughton.
The eight-team girls tournament starts Thursday.

North DeSoto plays Northwood at 4 p.m. followed by Captain Shreve vs. Richwood at 5:30 and Haughton vs. Lakeside at 7.

Minden plays Ruston in a first-round game at BPCC.

The semifinals are 5:30 and 7 p.m. Friday at Haughton. The championship game is 1 p.m. Saturday at Haughton.

Haughton is the defending champion.

The Bossier Lady Kats tournament, which has a field of eight teams, begins today.

Green Oaks and Plain Dealing open the tournament with a 4 p.m. game. Defending champion West Monroe faces Huntington at 5:30, Woodlawn takes on Bossier at 7 and Parkway plays Booker T. Washington at 8:30.

The semifinals are Thursday at 4 and 5:30 p.m. with the finals set for Saturday at 7.
Other parish teams are headed out of town for tournaments.

The Benton girls are playing in the South Beauregard tournament.

The Airline girls are traveling to Baton Rouge for the St. Michael tournament. The boys are also headed to the Baton Rouge area for the St. Amant tournament.

The Bossier boys are going to Baton Rouge for the University Lab tournament.
