Haughton head football coach Rodney Guin continues to make progress in his recovery from a heart attack suffered April 26.

Guin’s daughter Maggie posted a photo of her dad on Facebook Tuesday night sitting on the side of his bed. She captioned it “getting some exercise.”

On Sunday, Guin sent a text to his assitant coaching saying he would soon be moved from ICU to  a rehab unit at Baylor University Medical School in Dallas, where he has been since April 28.

Haughton assistant coach Jason Brotherton, who has been leading the Bucs through spring practice, said Guin called him Tuesday for the first time since the heart attack, wanting to know how the intra-squad spring scrimmage went. Brotherton told him it was cancelled because of rain.

“He said, ‘That’s fine,’ ” Brotherton said. “He was calling to make sure we put it on Hudl so he could watch it.”

The Bucs scrimmage Bossier Friday at Haughton, so barring another rainout Guin will get a chance to see his team in action.
