The Haughton Farmers Market & Artisan Fair will kick off this weekend with fresh, homegrown products every Saturday through November 14.

The 2015 Fall Market is scheduled for Saturdays October 17 through November 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at sponsor Ivey Lumber, 1820 Highway 80.

New this fall are vendors selling organically raised and fed pork, chicken and duck products along with pickled quail eggs and other quail products.

Locally grown produce and heirloom organic produce — squash, melons, greens, satsumas, cucumbers, pie pumpkins, okra, eggplants and more — will be sold by growers from the Haughton and Princeton areas. There will also be locally sourced raw and creamed honey along with many canned jellies, pickles and salsa.HaughtonMarket

A select group of artisans come together to offer the community high quality crafts that sets the Haughton market apart. There is no competition among vendors, so every booth will offer something different.

Several local groups will be highlighted each Saturday and entertainment from CeCe the Clown. The schedule of entertainment is:

Oct 17: Castle Bounce House & Great Dane Animal Rescue

Oct 24 and Nov 7: Bossier Parish Fire Station Hwy 80

Nov 7: Face Painting by Becky

Oct 31: Painted pumpkin contest and candy for the kids. Contest judge is Lane Raley, Princeton Elementary Art Teacher & WERLA wild animal displays and education
