Haughton Famers’ Market comes to end with a big final day

The first Haughton Farmer’s Market is coming to an end on Saturday, Aug. 10 with a big event planned for the last summer market day.

A Health Fair & Farmer’s Market will be from 8 a.m. to noon, located at Joe Delaney Park on West Jackson in downtown Haughton.

Various vendors will be selling produce, canned goods of all kinds, crafts and several varieties of local honey. Special guests include LSU Ag Nutrition, Anytime Fitness’ Stockwell Road location, Haughton Fire Department and a performance by the Haughton High School Highsteppers, Lulu the Clown making balloon animals, and “Face Painting By Sandy” for the kids.

Food Trucks from “Some Like It Hot” with owner and Haughton resident Ange Posey and “Po’ Boys & Rich Girls” with owner Chas Bennett, a Haughton native, will be serving breakfast from 8-10 a.m. and Llnch from 10 a.m. to noon.

A Gift Basket Giveaway will be held for one lucky customer. All vendors and Food Trucks will be donating one item to the basket with a value of $135. For every purchase a customer makes, they get a slip to enter the contest. The drawing is at noon and the customer must be present with ID to claim their prize.
