Jessica Raley, a teacher at Haughton High School, celebrated the release of her first book, a Christian daily devotional titled Coffee, Tears & Poolside Chats, with a meet-the-author and signing event Saturday, August 23 at Tornado Coffee Company on Swan Lake Road.

From 10 a.m. to noon, readers gathered at the local coffee shop to hear Raley share the inspiration behind her writing and to have their copies signed. The event gave community members a chance to connect personally with the first-time author, whose work is now available for purchase on Amazon.

Raley said the devotional is deeply rooted in her own experiences with loss, particularly the grief of losing her father. She hopes her reflections will resonate with others facing challenges, offering encouragement and spiritual uplift in daily life.

Coffee, Tears & Poolside Chats blends heartfelt storytelling with faith-based insight, aiming to guide readers through both ordinary moments and life’s struggles with resilience and trust in God.
