Haughton’s Anna Dies has been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State softball first team.

Haughton’s Anna Dies has been named to the Class 5A All-State softball first team
Dies, a pitcher and outfielder who made the team at utility, batted .524 with five home runs and 28 RBI. The Louisiana Tech signee had a slugging percentage of .917. One the mound, she had a 2.79 ERA with 91 strikeouts.

Dies, who graduated in May, was the MVP on The Press-Tribune’s All-Parish in 2014 and 2015.

Airline pitchers Andrew Lowe and Kyle Backofen and infielder Peyton Davis were named honorable mention on the 5A baseball team. Lowe is an Ole Miss signee. Backofen and Davis will be seniors this fall.

Parkway pitcher Samantha Guile, infielder Alexis Rayborn and outfielder Mary Kate Bozeman were named honorable mention on the 5A softball team.
Rayborn and Bozeman were seniors last season. Guile will be a senior this fall.
