Herbert Michael Schieme
Benton, LA – Funeral services for Herbert Michael “Mike” Schieme, 77, will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will immediately follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Terry Young of Airline Baptist Church.
Mike was born on January 15, 1943 to Vivian Pauline Gibbons and Herbert Gustave Schieme in Fort Worth, Texas and passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After retiring from Xerox after 33 ½ years, Mike pursued his true passion of traveling the country side in his motorhome with his wife of 45 years, Daisy. He was also an avid fisherman, loved bluegrass music and was part of the Hayride Sams Camping Club.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Daisy Schieme; son, James Schieme; daughter, Regina Schieme; sister, Melissa Schieme and brother, Philip Carl Schieme. He is survived by his son, John Schieme and wife, Andrea of Benton, Louisiana; daughter, Mary May and husband, Steve of Benton, Louisiana; sisters, Judith Allcock and husband, Bud of Fort Worth, Texas and Madelyn Hughes and husband, Wayne of Boyd, Texas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mike as pallbearers will be Michael Scotch, Jacob May, Matthew May, Roger Hodges, Adrian Hill and Christopher Tong.
