PLAIN DEALING – Herman Giddens went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, November 29, 2013. Services celebrating the life of Herman will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Brother Harold Bailey and Sister Elise Bailey. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Herman was born on May 29, 1927. He was a 2nd class Gunners Mate in the US Navy. Mr. Giddens lived in the Shreveport/Bossier City area for over 40 years. He was a truck driver for 40 years nationwide, even teaching his wife to drive. Herman married the love of his life Jean almost 64 years ago on May 31, 1949. He had such a true love for his family and his grandchildren were such a joy in his life. Herman will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Giddens and Claudia Powell Giddens; son, Brian Edward “Eddie” Giddens; brother, Herbert Giddens.

Herman is survived by his wife, Jean Brian Giddens; sons, Milton Herman Giddens and Milton Carl Giddens; daughter, Carolyn Giddens Turner; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Honoring Herman as pallbearers will be Aaron Gaddy, Brian Giddens, Joshua Hays, Eddie Giddens, Ron Sandeford, and Chris Wallette.
