The Airline Vikings, Benton Tigers and Parkway Panthers picked up victories in tournaments Saturday.
Airline completed a 4-0 run in the Trey Altick Memorial Invitational hosted by Ouachita Christian with victories over Ouachita Parish, 12-4, and Walker, 10-2.
Benton completed a 3-1 run in the same event, defeating John Curtis Christian 6-3 and falling to University Lab 2-1.
After losing their first three games in the Sulphur tournament, Parkway defeated Denham Springs 5-2. The Panthers also fell to Sulphur 8-3.
Meanwhile, the Haughton Buccaneers completed a dominating three-game sweep of Loyola with a 10-0 victory at Loyola. The Bucs won the three games by a combined 29-4.
Matthew Scripture had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI in Airline’s victory over Ouachita Parish.
Keegan Lehr went 2-for-4 with a triple. Harrison Waxley had two RBI.
Waxley pitched a complete game, scattering eight hits and striking out seven.
Caden Long went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI against Walker.
Carson Carey went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Clayton Brandon went 2-for-3 with a double.
Lehr had a double and two RBI. Mason Morgan had a triple.
Caleb Hemmings pitched a complete game. He allowed just four hits and struck out five.
Airline (4-2) hosts West Monroe Tuesday.
Preston Hill pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts in Benton’s victory over John Curtis.
Brady Blaylock had two doubles. Kenner Lauterbach had two hits, including a double. Sam Dominick stole home for the final run.
Daniel Jayroe turned in a solid performance on the mound against University.
Benton (4-2-2) visits Texas High Monday.
Zachary Clute pitched five innings without allowing a hit in relief in Parkway’s victory over Denham Springs.
Brandon Levy had an RBI-triple.
Tanner Kirkland went 2-for-4 with a double against Sulphur. Cameron Fink had two RBI. Zach Schoenborn had a double.
Parkway (3-5) visits Northshore Thursday.
At Loyola, Haughton’s Caleb Brown picked up his first win of the season, allowing just four hits and striking out six in the six-inning game.
Joshua Sewell went 3-for-3. Chan Lytle went 3-for-4 with five RBI. Austin Anderson went 2-for-3.
Haughton (7-1) hosts Minden Tuesday at 5.
