High school baseball: Airline downs North Caddo


The Airline Vikings defeated North Caddo 12-2 in a non-district game Friday at Airline.

Airline (17-10) is scheduled to complete its District 1-5A series against Benton at 1 p.m. Saturday at Airline.

It took the Vikings a little while to get going against the Titans.

North Caddo scored a run in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead. Airline answered with four in the bottom of the inning. The Vikings tacked on two in the fourth then ended the game with five in the bottom of the fifth.

Matthew Scripture and Clayton Brandon had three hits each, including doubles. Brandon had three RBI.

Harrison Waxley had two doubles and three RBI. Carson Carey went 2-for-2.

Mason Morgan had two RBI. 

Hayden Smith and Logan Thurman pitched the first two innings. Ian Sullivan allowed two hits and no walks over the final three innings.
