Anthony Mulrenin drove in five runs as the Airline Vikings ended a two-game slide with a 13-2, five-inning victory over the Minden Crimson Tide on Wedesday at Airline.
The Vikings, who had been the victims of two straight shutouts, didn’t score in the first two innings. But they broke the drought in the third with four runs and added five in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Airline (13-10, 2-0) resumes District 1-5A play at 6 p.m. Thursday against Parkway (12-8, 2-2) at home. In the other District 1-5A games, Evangel Christian (8-15, 0-4) is at Captain Shreve (7-16, 1-3) and Byrd (10-12, 4-0) visits Southwood (5-16, 0-2).
Haughton (10-14, 3-1) is playing North Webster in a non-district game that started at 1 p.m.
At Airline, Mulrenin went 3-for-4 with a triple. Cole Broadway also had three hits, including a double, and three RBI.
Jonathan Brandon also had two triples. Peyton Jordan went 2-for-4. Ryan Lawhorne had a hit and walked twice.
Chase Hodges allowed five hits and struck out five.
