The Benton Tigers picked up their second win in as many days Wednesday night, defeating Arkansas High 5-4 in Texarkana, Ark.
Grayson Gates got the win. He allowed three hits and struck out seven in five innings. Cameron Ross kept the Razorbacks off the scoreboard in the final two innings for the save.
Tanner Timms had two of Benton’s seven hits, including a double. Cade Scott also had a double. Cade Paddy had two RBI.
The Tigers rallied from a 4-2 deficit after three innings.
A leadoff double by Timms followed by Jack Walters’ single tied the game at 4 in the sixth. Scott’s double moved Walters to third. Paddy’s sacrifice fly then scored Walters with the go-ahead run.
Benton is among the teams playing in the second annual Nathan George Louisiana Texas Shootout which begins Thursday.
