High school baseball: Benton improves to 10-0 with rout of Glenbrook

The Benton Tigers improved to 10-0 with a 12-1 victory over Glenbrook in five innings Wednesday in Minden.

The Tigers scored four in both the first and second innings then added two in the third and two in the fifth.

Eight Benton players combined for 10 hits. Cole Snell went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Kade Bryant went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Brandon McCarthy had a double.

Starter Jax Prewitt allowed three hits in three innings. He struck out six and walked one. Colton Birdsong allowed two hits in two innings. He had five strikeouts and no walks.

Benton begins a three-game series against St. Louis Catholic Friday at 6 p.m. in Lake Charles. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m.
