Benton won twice while Parkway and Haughton picked up one victory apiece on the final day of the second annual Nathan George Louisiana Texas Shootout Saturday.
The four Louisiana teams, which included Evangel Christian, dominated the three-day event, losing only two games.
Benton defeated Atlanta, Texas, 12-3 and Elysian Fields, Texas, 14-7. Parkway defeated Longview, Texas, Spring Hill 6-4. Haughton routed Elysian Fields 14-4.
Evangel edged Spring Hill 7-6.
Elsewhere, Airline split a doubleheader with Neville in Monroe. The Vikings lost the first 6-4 and won the second 20-11. Airline won the season-opening three-game series two games to one.
In the third game of a three-game series, Bossier fell to North Caddo 20-0 at Rusheon.
Cade Scott went 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBI in Benton’s win over Atlanta.
Brock Van Hoy smacked two doubles. Clint Lasiter went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Cade Paddy went 2-for-2 with a double. Tanner Timms had two hits.
Cameron Ross and Grayson Gates had doubles.
Ross pitched a four-hitter with no walks.
Lasiter went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI against Elysian Fields.
Scott went 3-for-5 with a triple. Cade Paddy had two doubles. Grayson Gates had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Timms had two hits.
Brock Van Hoy and Pearce Russell had two RBI each.
Winning pitcher Hayden Hable allowed one hit in 4 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.
Benton improved to 4-1 after going 2-1 in the tournament.
Brandon Levy went 3-for-3 with three RBI in Parkway’s victory over Spring Hill. Hayden Knotts had two hits.
Starter Drake Fontenot allowed five hits in six innings and struck out eight.
Parkway improved to 4-1 after going 3-1 in the tournament.
Carson Gilmore went 2-for-2 with a home run, double and three RBI in Haughton’s win over Elysian Fields.
Peyton Stovall went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
Logan Wilkerson went 2-for-3 with a triple. CJ McWilliams had two hits.
Cameron Barton and Carter Griffin both had doubles.
Chase Keith struck out seven in five innings for the win.
Haughton improved to 3-1 after going 3-0 in the tournament.
At Neville, Airline pounded out 15 hits in the 20-11 victory. Six Vikings had multiple hits.
Harrison Waxley only had one, but it was a one-out grand slam in the first. Waxley also walked twice.
Hayden Lope went 3-for-5. Bryson Connell had two hits, including a double, and four RBI.
Cole Tabor had two hits and two RBI. Cole Broadway went 2-for-3 and walked three times.
Seth Gander and Hunter Whiteside had two hits each.
In the first game, Neville broke a 4-4 tie with two runs in the sixth.
Gander went 3-for-4 with a double. Broadway smacked a two-out, two-run double that gave the Vikings a 4-0 lead in the top of the second.
Lope and Tabor both had doubles.
Starter Connell gave up four hits and two earned runs and with eight strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
At Rusheon, Andre Green had Bossier’s only hit, a single. North Caddo won the series two games to one.
Bossier dropped to 2-2.
