The Haughton Bucs, Benton Tigers and Bossier Bearkats won games Tuesday.
Haughton downed Minden 7-1 at Haughton, Benton edged St. Mary’s 4-2 at Benton and Bossier defeated Jonesboro-Hodge 5-2 at Rusheon.
Elsewhere, Airline suffered a tough 4-3 loss to West Monroe on the road.
At Haughton, Carter Griffin went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI.
Logan Wilkerson went 2-for-2. CJ McWilliams went 2-for-3 with a double. He also had two stolen bases.
Jacob Hernandez (3-1) pitched a complete game. He allowed five hits, struck out nine and walked none. Hernandez retired the final 11 Tide batters.
Haughton improved to 6-3.
At Benton, Grayson Gates pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and just two walks. He also had a double.
Cade Paddy went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Brock Van Hoy went 2-for-3.
Paddy’s two-RBI double with two outs gave Benton a 4-0 lead through six.
St. Mary’s scored two with two outs in the top of the seventh on back-to-back singles. But Gates got a strikeout to end the game.
Cade Scott’s RBI-single with two outs in the bottom of the fifth gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
Benton improved to 8-3.
At Rusheon, Bossier scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth on five singles and two errors.
Coleman Beeson, Caden White, Barrett Bussie, Avery Williams and Andre Green all had hits in the inning. Bussie drove in two runs.
Green went 2-for-3 in the game.
Jackson Kennedy got the win. He allowed two hits in the final three innings and struck out four. Starter Beeson allowed three hits and struck out six.
Bossier improved to 5-5.
At West Monroe, the Rebels won on a walk-off single with two outs.
Airline (5-4) tied the game at 3 in the top of the sixth. Seth Gander scored on an error with two outs.
The Vikings had four hits, including an RBI-double by Harrison Waxley. Gander drew two walks and had a single.
