In a battle between two of the top teams in the non-select Division I power rankings, the No. 4 Haughton Bucs fell to the No. 3 Northwood Falcons 12-5 Friday at Haughton.
The Bucs led 4-1 after six innings but couldn’t stop the Falcons in the seventh. Northwood scored 11 runs on four hits, five walks and two hit-by-pitches.
Haughton’s Maddox Williams went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Drake Cooper went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Troy Fielding went 2-for-4.
Northwood’s Landon Martin went 3-for-5. The Falcons improved to 19-4.
Haughton (22-6) is scheduled to play a doubleheader against Huntington Tuesday at Haughton.
