High school baseball: Haughton wins fifth in a row; Airline’s Jason Bland tournament set to begin


The Haughton Bucs ran their record to 8-1 with a 10-1 victory over Minden Wednesday at Haughton.

Ethan Robinson (3-0) allowed just four hits in six innings.

Roman Tolbert struck out the side in the seventh. He also went 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

Austin Anderson went 2-for-2. Caleb Brown had two stolen bases. 

The Bucs, who have won five in a row, have home games Thursday against Texas High at 1 p.m. and Ruston at 5.

The games are part of Airline’s annual Jason Bland Memorial Tournament.

Benton is also playing in the Jason Bland tournament, which runs through Saturday.

Parkway is competing in the East Ascension tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Panthers face Northshore at Zachary at 6:30 Thursday.
