Christian Turner, a 2025 Haughton graduate , and Benton rising senior Cole Snell have been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s Class 5A All-State team.
Turner, who is continuing his career at Arkansas, was named the District 1-5A Player of the Year. He batted .405 with 12 doubles, eight triples, five home runs and 32 RBI.
Snell, an infielder, batted .468 with 12 doubles, seven triples, two home runs and 57 RBI. He also stole 30 bases in 32 attempts.
Snell helped the Tigers go 35-6, win the District 1-5A championship and advance to the non-select Division I semifinals.
Benton pitcher Thomas Allen and Parkway shortstop/pitcher Abel Thetford were named honorable mention.
Allen, the District 1-5A Pitcher of the Year and a ULM signee, was was 9-3 with an ERA of 1.36. He had 90 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings.
Thetford, who is continuing his career at Pearl River Community College, batted .411 with 12 doubles, one home run and 21 RBI. He was 3-3 with a 3.40 and 44 strikeouts in 35 innings.
