High school baseball: Three parish players make all-star teams

Airline pitcher/shortstop Cameron Parikh, Benton outfielder Coleman Nerren and Haughton outfielder Lacey Dodson have been named to state high school All-Star baseball and softball teams, respectively.

Parikh and Nerren were named to the West roster for the Louisiana High School Baseball Coaches’ Association/Louisiana High School Coaches’ Association East-West All-Star games scheduled for May 19-20 at Denham Springs’ North Park.

Parikh, a Louisiana Tech signee, was the MVP on the 2016 All-Parish team. Nerren, a ULM signee, was a first-team All-Parish selection last season

Also named to the West roster were Byrd’s Jonathan Fincher and Steele Netterville.

Dodson, a three-time All-Parish selection, was named to the West roster for the Louisiana High School Softball Coaches’ Association/Louisiana High School Coaches’ Association East-West All-Star games scheduled for May 12-13 at Louisiana College in Pineville.

Also named to the West roster were Calvary Baptist’s Emily Daniel and Lexi LeGrand and North DeSoto’s Bayli Simon and Emma Callie Delafield.

The games are for seniors only.

Calvary Baptist’s Tiffany Frazier is the West head coach.
