High school basketball: Bossier boys, Airline girls win in City of Lights Classic

The Bossier Bearkats and Airline Lady Vikings picked up wins in the City of Lights Classic on Monday in Natchitoches.

Bossier defeated H.L. Bourgeois 68-50, and Airline downed Mansfield 56-50.

Jacoby Decker and Dante Bell led the Bearkats (3-0) with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Tim King added nine and Kaalas Roots eight.

The scored was tied at 23 at the half. Bossier took control by outscoring Bourgeois 25-13 in the third.

Bossier faces Peabody at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Natchitoches Central at 7 Wednesday.

Taaliyah Johnson and Zahria Lloyd scored 12 points each as Airline improved to 3-0 under new head coach Lyndzee McConathy.

Makayla Bendaw scored 11 points and had three assists. LaDayjah Means had eight rebounds and three assists.

Keiarra McCoy grabbed nine rebounds.

Airline plays Huntington at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Natchitoches Central at 5:30 Wednesday.
