High school basketball: Bossier boys, Plain Dealing girls win in Battle on the Hardwood

The Bossier boys and Plain Dealing girls won games Friday in the metroPCS Battle on the Hardwood Classic.

The Bearkats crushed Tyler, Texas, Robert E. Lee 83-39 at Huntington. The Lady Lions defeated Fair Park 48-41 at Fair Park.

Tyrese English led Bossier with 21 points. He hit four of the Bearkats’ 10 3-pointers.

Tybo Wimberly and Jacoby Decker scored 10 points each. Chris Davenport added eight. Tyron McCoy and Ceontray Jarmon scored seven each.

Bossier plays Washington-Marion at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Centenary Gold Dome in a rematch of last season’s Class 4A state championship game. The Bearkats won that one 42-39.

Dra Briggs and Teunna Perry led Plain Dealing with 11 points each against Fair Park.

The Lady Lions face Green Oaks at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Fair Park.
