The Bossier Bearkats sank 11 3-pointers in an 80-64 high school boys basketball victory over the Captain Shreve Gators on Friday night at Bossier.

Four Bearkats scored in double figures. Tyron McCoy led the way with 14 points. Tim King, Kaalas Roots and Janyron Rogers pumped in 13 apiece. Dante Bell scored nine.

Roots and Rogers hit three 3-pointers each, and McCoy had two.

The Bearkats led 37-26 at the half and extended the lead to 60-44 going into the fourth.

Bossier (2-0) has a busy Thanksgiving week. The Bearkats are playing the City of Lights Classic in Natchitoches Monday through Wednesday and the Paul Millsap Classic on Saturday at BPCC.

Bossier faces H.L. Bourgeois on Monday at 5:30 p.m., Peabody on Tuesday at 5:30 and Natchitoches Central on Wednesday at 7. The Bearkats play Lafayette Christian at 7 in the Paul Millsap Classic.

All four games should be good tests for Bossier and new head coach Nick Bohanan.

Peabody is the defending Class 3A state champion. The Warhorses went 35-3 last season.

Natchitoches Central was a Class 5A quarterfinalist last season, and H.L. Bourgeois reached the second round. Lafayette Christian is the defending Division IV state champ.

Elsewhere Friday, the Haughton Lady Bucs fell to Minden 68-41 in the semifinals of the Lakeside tournament.

Takaiyah Sweeney and Champagne Dennis led Haughton (1-2) with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Shuntorri Rogers paced Minden with 22 points, and Destini Powell added 17.

Haughton plays Minden again Monday night at Minden.
