High school bowling: Airline teams continue to roll; Benton boys win

The Airline girls and boys teams continued to roll in high school bowling action Monday at Holiday Lanes.

The Lady Vikings improved to 7-0 with a 26-1 victory over Parkway. The Vikings raised their record to 6-0 with a 21-6 victory over Captain Shreve.

Gage Moore led the Airline boys with a 600 series, the best of the day among all bowlers. That included a high game of 213.

Max Mendones had Airline’s high game of 225. Cody Shows had a 184 high game.

Paris Mendones led the Airline girls with a 568 series, including a 234, the high game of the day among all bowlers. Trista Quinley bowled a 201 high game and Jayda Ellison had a 178.

Aysia Evans led Parkway with a 362 series including a 132 game.

In other boys matches involving parish teams, Benton downed Loyola 21-6 and Byrd defeated Bossier 27-0.

In other girls matches, Loyola defeated Bossier 23-4 and Byrd edged Benton 15.5-11.5.

Zach Roden had the Benton boys’ high game of 208. Jacob Gafnea, who had the high series, and Ben Miller had high games of 186 and 185, respectively.

Channing Kelly led the Bossier boys with a 304 series and 122 game.

Caitlin Lawrence paced the Benton girls with a 478 series including a 167 game. Alexa Guajardo had a 140 high game and Michaela Celichowski bowled a 124.

Bree Lewis led the Bossier girls with a 361 series and 140 game.
