High school bowling: Parkway, Benton win boys district titles; Parkway girls keep rolling

The Parkway Panthers and Benton Tigers are the 2017 Shreveport/Bossier City region high school boys bowling district champions.

Parkway completed a 10-0 regular season with a 22.5-4.5 victory over the Haughton Bucs on Thursday at Holiday Lanes. The Panthers finished 6-0 in the 5A district, two games ahead of Airline.

Benton defeated Bossier 26-1 to finish 8-2 overall. The Tigers completed play in the 4A district 6-0, two games ahead of Loyola College Prep.

Meanwhile, the Parkway girls improved to 11-0 with a 27-0 victory over Loyola. Parkway leads Airline by three games and has clinched the district title.

Airline swept Byrd Thursday. The Vikings won 21-6 and the Lady Vikings won 23-4.

Airline’s Trista Quinley had an impressive performance. She had the high game (231) and series (605) among all girls bowlers. Quinley also bowled a 203 and a 171.

Bailey Russell bowled a 162 high game and Madison Raab had a 149 as the Lady Vikings improved to 8-3.

Nicole Taylor led Parkway with a 214 high game and 570 series. Katie Black bowled a 182 high game and Traclyn Bell had a 162.

Parkway’s Chandler Sumpter had the high series among all boys bowlers with a 628, including a 214 high game. Teammate Alex Bequette led all boys with a 243 high game. Michael Weaver bowled a 193.

Christian Silba had Haughton’s high series of 550, including a 212. Brandon Simmons had the Bucs’ high game of 206. Reagan McDonald bowled a 174.

Tanner Talmadge paced Airline with a 201 high game and 574 series. Dominic Rivers had a 186 and Brian Fielding a 152.

Caitlin Lawrence topped Benton with a 468 series, including a 157. Austin Sepeda had the Tigers’ high game of 171, just ahead of John Norris’ 170.

Brenden Hohesntein led Bossier with a 156 high game.
