High school bowling: Parkway teams keep perfect records intact; Airline, Benton boys win


The Parkway boys and girls teams kept their perfect records intact with victories Thursday at Holiday Lanes.

In boys matches, Parkway defeated Haughton 21.5-5.5, Airline downed Byrd 22-5, Benton defeated Bossier 23.5-3.5 and Loyola College Prep slipped past Minden 15-12.

Parkway improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in District 1. Airline improved to 6-1 and 2-1.

Benton raised its overall record to 5-2. The Tigers lead District 2 at 3-0. Loyola is a game back at 2-1.

In the only girls match, Parkway blanked Loyola 27-0.

The Lady Panthers are 8-0 and have a two-game lead over Airline in the standings.

Parkway’s Nicole Taylor had the day’s high game of 233 and series of 578 among all bowlers. She also bowled a 170 and 175.

Parkway’s Traclyn Bell bowled a 169 high game and Katie Black had a 168.

Parkway’s Destin Meza topped all boys bowlers with a 207 high game and 565 series. He also bowled a 170 and 178.

Parkway’s James Benjamin had a 178 high game and Alex Bequette a 176.

Brandon Simmons topped Haughton with a 192 high game and 516 series. Johnathan Brown had a 188 and Christian Silba a 179.

Dominic Rivers led Airline with a 201 high game and 501 series. Marvin Scott had a 173 and Brian Fielding bowled a 170.

Parker King had Benton’s high game of 162. Austin Sepeda had the Tigers’ high series of 433, including a 159. Caitlin Lawrence bowled a 144.

Chris Whisnant led Bossier with a 173 high game and 396 series. Brenden Hohesntien bowled a 137 and Nick Thomas a 116.
