The Airline Vikings, Bossier Bearkats and Plain Dealing Lions won district games Friday night.
In District 1-5A, Airline defeated parish rival Parkway 59-55 at Airline, leader Natchitoches Central got past Benton 49-40 at Benton, Haughton fell to Southwood 76-49 at Southwood and Captain Shreve downed Byrd 64-49 at Byrd.
Natchitoches Central (25-2, 10-0) leads the district by two games over Captain Shreve (20-7, 8-2) with four to play. Southwood (18-11, 7-3) is third.
Bossier continued its domination of District 1-3A, routing Mansfield 76-46 on the road.
The Bearkats (27-3, 6-0) can clinch the district championship with a victory over Green Oaks on Tuesday at Green Oaks.
In a District 1-1A game, Plain Dealing defeated Ringgold 72-68 at home.
At Airline, Devin Bilbo and Kendrick Crawford led the Vikings (15-12, 4-6) with 13 points each. Kyle McConathy chipped in with 12.
Airline led 19-18 after a fast-paced first quarter. McConathy and Star Hampton hit 3-pointers in the second quarter and the Vikings extended the lead to 36-27.
Parkway rallied in the third. Gabe Larry scored five and Gnoble Peterson four to help the Panthers get within one going into the fourth.
Bilbo and Crawford scored four each in the fourth and McConathy knocked down a 3-pointer. Parkway’s Bryce Roberts hit two 3s, but the Vikings pulled out the win.
Roberts led the Panthers (17-9, 6-4) with 16 points. Larry added 11. Javoris White and Trae Ware had nine each.
At Benton, the Tigers remained within striking distance of the Chiefs, trailing 24-14 at the half and 32-24 after three quarters.
Brodie Romero led Benton (11-16, 3-7 with 14 points. Ryan Ward added seven.
Natchitoches Central got 16 points from Darius Young. Devante Snow, one of the area’s top scorers, had seven.
At Mansfield, Otis Smith and Cody Deen led the Bearkats with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Deen hit four of the Bearkats’ seven 3-pointers.
Cinco Bryant added 11 points and Lakavin Thomas 10.
Bossier led 29-9 after the first quarter and cruised from there.
At Plain Dealing, Cedarius Johnson poured in 36 points to lead the Lions (9-13, 4-4).
Johnson scored 15 in the first half. In the second, hit sank four from long range and scored 21.
Darrien Perry added 15 points, including eight in the fourth quarter.
At Southwood, Haughton dropped to 5-17 overall and 0-10.
