The Benton Tigers were the lone parish team to come away with a victory Tuesday night.
Benton defeated Northwood 45-30 at Benton.
Elsewhere, Airline’s four-game winning streak ended with a 78-71 loss to Ruston at Airline, Parkway dropped a 71-62 decision to Huntington at Huntington and Plain Dealing fell to North Webster 72-35 at Plain Dealing.
At Benton, the Tigers (5-4) jumped out to an 14-1 lead and held an 18-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Northwood (4-3) rallied in the second and cut the lead to 22-17 at the half.
The Falcons got as close as three a couple of times early in the third. It was still a five-point game heading into the fourth. The Tigers dominated the final period, outscoring the Falcons 12-2.
At Airline, the Vikings came out hot. Kevin White scored nine of his 27 points in the first quarter and Airline led 24-19.
Ruston’s Ahmad Hudson, fresh of playing in the non-select Division I state championship football game Saturday, scored 11 in the second quarter and the Bearcats rallied for a 41-37 halftime lead.
Hudson scored eight in the third as Ruston (1-1) extended its lead to 57-46. White scored 12 in the fourth but the Vikings fell short.
Jusdan Gladney scored 14 for Airline. Cunningham added 10 and Eli Washington nine. Hudson finished with 21.
At Huntington, Parkway dropped to 3-5 and Huntington improved to 6-3.
